Invisalign®
Invisalign is known as the modern alternative to metal braces. Similar to other clear aligner therapy, Invisalign aligners are made of smooth, virtually invisible plastic material. Invisalign is popular among teens and adults due to its discrete method of teeth straightening.

How long is orthodontic treatment?
Whether you opt for metal braces or clear aligners, orthodontic treatment duration will vary based on your oral health and smile goals. Most patients see their desired results between 1 to 3 years. Through treatment, you can expect to attend regular checkups for adjustments and to ensure treatment progress.
Can sports be played during orthodontic treatment?
Patients who opt for orthodontic treatment can still play sports. However, we encourage patients to wear a mouthguard to protect both the braces and teeth from injury during physical activities. If you or your child play a sport, ask us about our custom mouthguards!
Do I need to brush my teeth more often if I have braces?
We encourage patients with traditional braces to take special care of their oral hygiene. Due to the metal wires and brackets, food can easily be caught between teeth, and bacteria can build up. If you have braces, you should brush your teeth at least three times a day and floss daily. Before you leave our office with braces, we will show you how to brush and floss and answer any other questions you may have about keeping your teeth clean.
Does insurance cover orthodontic treatment?
Many patients visit our office and plan to pay with insurance to cover orthodontic treatment. In many cases, dental insurance plans include orthodontic benefits. At Caring Smiles Dental, we accept most PPO plans. If you plan to pay for orthodontic treatment with dental insurance, we encourage you to contact your insurance plan or ask our office for more details.
